Review of Red Queen: So it's the future, and some people have silver blood and magic powers, and those people are obviously awesome and in charge. The dull normals with red blood are peasants and servants, and they mostly fight in a war that the Silvers declared because someone insulted their hair or something.
Whether you're a Swords and Sorcery type of fantasy reader, a fan of battles and betrayal, or you just want a few more goddamn elves in your life, there's something for you here. These are the truly great fantasy series written in the last 50 years.

Shriver will mercilessly stick in her claws, rip out your heart and throw in a sizeable dash of nausea for good measure. That said, this is a brilliant novel, raw and powerful and will leave you feeling exhausted. Make sure you have tissues and a stiff drink handy when reading.
Urban Fantasy. Neither fully alive nor fully dead, "inbetweener" Carlos Delacruz keeps one foot in each world, mortal and supernatural. Though based in Brooklyn, Carlos is an agent of the New York Council of the Dead, which tasks him with locating and apprehending Sarco, an ancient and malevolent sorcerer who plans to open an entrada to the Underworld, literally unleashing Hell upon an unsuspecting city.
