Gold Star Chili. Began in Cincinnati in 1965 and was originally called "Hamburger Heaven" As the name suggests, the original restaurant (located in Mt. Washington) was primarily hamburgers, but they had a great recipe for chili & that became the most requested menu item. As a result, the name was changed to Gold Star Chili & many of the other items were removed from the menu. To date, there are 93+ locations & they are the official chili of the Cincinnati Bengals.
