Taylor Johnson: #SlaveTrade #HumansForGoods  A photo from a newspaper advertisement in Charleston, NC in the 1780's.  Slaves were taken from their homes in Africa and sent to America on ships.  An estimated 1.8 million slaves died on the voyage to America.  Europeans traded goods for Africans, then shipped them to the Americas where they were sold or traded for goods once again. (Fitzgerald pg 118-119)

This house boasts two beautiful iron gates made by Jacob Werner who was a German craftsman. He was supposed to make them for the Citadel, but made two copies due to a miscommunication.  One set is at the Citadel, the other is the entrance to this home for sale. The most expensive house for sale in SC 18.8 mil.
