I like this idea.  However, I think I want to brainstorm "habits and traits" with my students to create "Badges."  Students can earn badges throughout the year.  It would be fun to let each student create & decorate a badge.  The goal would be for students to earn a badge from each student.

"Catch a Habit": Set out buckets labeled w/ the 7 Habits. When peers notice each other demonstrating the habits, they fill out a slip and put it in the bucket with that student's name and what they did. (Only someone else can nominate you!) Teachers could have a raffle every week for students who demonstrate the habits! Leader in Me ideas!
