Mackenzie2953's art on ArtsoniaAfter viewing artwork by artist Keith Haring, students created their own figure showing movement. Haring's style is one of simple figures and bold colors. Students were asked to create contrast using various patterns with a black sharpie and colors were added with markers later.
Luke3616's art on ArtsoniaStudents looked at work by French artist Henri Matisse. They noticed his unusual use of color and how he was known as the "master of color". Ms. Welling demonstrated how to realistically paint the facial features. Students were encouraged to paint a "likeness" of themselves in black tempera on brown kraft paper. We used tempera blocks to add color Matisse style
