Epidendrosaurus, a bird-like dino with a finger twice as long as the rest to help dig for insects. Possibly the first reptile to be closer to a bird than a dinosaur, it had adaptations for an arboreal lifestyle.

A fragment of a tubular pipe painted with black asphaltum and red ocher was found at the Late Prehistoric Hinojosa site in Jim Wells County. The illustration at bottom shows an interpretive reconstruction of the design and color.
