The source for this photo says the stones used in aquariums are synthetic aggregate stone that have photoluminescent pigment and synthetic resin. After being exposed to the sun all day, the off-white pebble with the light sensitive pigment will start out with a strong glow and then fade over the evening. After dark the stones will turn blue green or yellow green. Will they last as long as the concrete? Do they compromise the integrity of the concrete?

Conoclinium coelestinum (blue mistflower) Blue mistflower can fill the garden with short green foliage and fuzzy blue flowers in late summer and early fall.
