Continental Motors Corporation was one of the nation's largest manufacturer of automobile, truck, bus and aircraft engines from 1906-1965. It was founded in Muskegon to supply Studebaker. In 1911 Hudson Motors ordered 10,000 engines which foreshadowed massive ordersfrom Detroit-based auto companies. That year they built a huge factory on East Jefferson, remains of which are still standing. During WWII, they were licensed to build Rolls Royce Merlin engines which powered the P-51 Mustang.

This pretty little dish is a vintage Viners of Sheffield silver plated sugar bowl. Pedestal base and flower patterned rim add elegant touches to the simple traditional lines of the bowl.
