Product Details
We hammered and swirled 12 gauge copper wire to make this unique Celtic knot inspired hair pin, shawl pin or scarf pin. We smoothed all the edges so that it will not catch on your shawl, sweater or hair. The pin measures about 3 3/4 - 4 1/8" (9.5 - 10.5 cm ) long and about 1 3/8 - 1 1/2" (3.5 - 3.8 cm) across the widest part. The stick pin part with the spiral on top that slips through the main Open Eye design to secure the pin is about 4 1/4 - 5 1/4" (10.9 - 13.3cm) long. You can gently bend the outer edges of the main piece to create a looser or tighter fit with the pin. It works best in a loosely knit garment. All our jewelry comes wrapped in colorful tissue paper, in a nice gift box and tied with a bow ready for gift giving. Check out our Shawl Pins/Hair Forks section of our shop to see our other pin designs in copper, aluminum, brass and sterling silver: http://www.etsy.com/shop/nicholasandfelice?section_id=5011288 Our Hair Sticks and Shawl Sticks section: https://www.etsy.com/shop/nicholasandfelice?section_id=19022255 Our Hair Forks and Shawl Forks section: https://www.etsy.com/shop/nicholasandfelice?section_id=19022263 The pin in the pictures is a representative pin and not the exact same one that you will receive. We hand make each pin and try hard to make them look the same. There may be some minor differences but the one you will receive will look very similar to the one you see in the pictures. The copper wire used in this pin is in it's natural form and not treated with a lacquer or wax. Copper naturally oxides over time and develops a patina. Some people love that look and some prefer to keep it shiny. Here are some suggestions for how to shine up your copper jewelry using common household supplies like lemon juice or ketchup: http://www.ehow.com/how_4473390_clean-copper-jewelry.html Tarn-X works great too This pin would work best on a knit or crocheted open weave type garment and is not intended for tightly woven cloth fabric.
