Quiet moments exploring the lesser-visited streets and markets of Hanoi’s old quarter. Contrary to most visitors to Vietnam, we didn’t really vibe with Hanoi. Undoubtedly beautiful, but overwhelmingly busy, getting around, especially with Mara, felt nigh on impossible. It made exploring its main attractions and hidden corners very hard, and had us pining for Saigon hourly. It made moments like these, finding what felt like the ‘real’ Hanoi, so intensely enjoyable.
