Several times a week someone knocks on our door and asks, "Is this 511?" "So sorry!" I'd reply, "I need to put an address sign out by the road." So finally I just got out some junk from my junk pile and made one. Now I don't have to give directions like this, "It's the house with the fence, um, it has some mailboxes in the front, oh, and look for my white van...." Now I can just tell them the address and they can find us!

I Have had these old doors in the wood pile for too many years. Finally slapped on some outdoor paint attached repainted plastic plantar boxes and added flowers. Bungied them to the fence and here they are.

Oh my gosh I literally squealed when I saw this project from Laura of Finding Home. She thought completely out of the box with this vertical herb garden made from an old door, galvanized bins and some serving ware for decorations. And I bet it smells delightful. I do wish bittersweet grew in Colorado! I am sorry to tell you these are "fake". The garden is winding down and I will miss it terribly. We are known to have snow in September.......just a dusting but possible just the same! I have loved smelling the dill in my garden this year. As I water the flowers I can smell it..... Jemima Puddleduck was happy to see the lavender blooming again! How many plants will I get from these seeds?

In times of drought you learn lessons, what will grow and what requires too much water... When you have times of severe sun activity, it's hotter and dryer than normal.
