#Delosperma 'Jewel of Desert' at the end of June is flowering more freely. These are being grown in a large pot off the ground to ensure good drainage and keep them safe from slugs just in case they find these as tasty as other types of Delosperma I have grown.
Spotted at Helpston Garden Centre, a Tetrapanax papyrifer 'Rex'. This is the first time I have seen them in a non specialist nursery so will be interesting to see if they end up on the shelves of some of the garden centres. Massive leaves if you get enough proper summer weather.
Cistus × purpureus the purple or orchid rock rose. It's easy to see why this is one of the most popular ones grown. Evergreen and lots and lots of colourful large (for a rock rose anyway) flowers in summer.
Heucheras are probably one of the most colourful evergreen foliage plants. The flowers are generally not anything to write home about but they do provide much needed winter colour and in spring the colours are vibrant. This picture has not been edited so shows the colours as they really are, watch out for sales photo's where the colours are artificially made to look more vibrant.
