Bradgate Park
So it all started like this. It's now more than six months I have been in UK, and I have never been anywhere other than my college. So we decided to go somewhere which no other friends have visited and also which costs us less. Googled out and found this wonderfull place called Bradgate park. It's basically a park nearby Leicester. Started out by 12.35 P. M. It just took 20 minutes to reach Anstey. We have to walk for 50 minutes to cover a distance of some 3 miles to reach the park, as it…

GoKarna
Along with a few of my friends, I decided to visit Gokarna over this weekend. Other than that we knew it was a tourist place, we didn't know what to expect there. As usual turned to Google to find some awesome blogs on what to expect from Gokarna. Then we started our road trip from Bangalore. We headed towards Pune in the Bangalore Pune National highway. The roads were good but highways are so monotonous, you get to see almost the same scenery everywhere. The narrow smaller roads almost…
Chitradurga
A small town on the way back from Hampi. The fort town is really awesome. The engineering that has gone into each structure makes you awe struck. The watch towers at the hill tops, and the steps you need to climb to reach those watch towers make you go mad. I missed climbing the steps this time. But next time I will make it sure that I will climb those steep steps to go to the top of the watch towers. The place was completely crowded on a Sunday evening. The fort is well maintained. Some…

Mekedaatu
Yet another road trip planned and executed to Mekedaatu. Last minute changes in the plan made a complete new crew. Mekedaatu is a 100 km away from Bangalore. We had planned it as a day trip. Mekedaatu means the place where the goat jumped. Its a narrow gorge in river Kaveri. The myth is that a goat was chased by a tiger. The goat came to this point in the gorge where to save its life it need to cross the river by leaping over the gorge. It did and so the name Mekedaatu which literally means…

DakshinaChitra, Chennai
DakshinaChitra is a kind of a museum of South Indian art and culture. It is located in the ECR (East Coast Road), 21 kilometres south of Chennai. What attracted me more about the place is the live models of the traditional houses of South India. One another thing I enjoyed was unlike other tourist attractions they don't charge you for a camera. Photos are of low quality. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me during this trip. Photos are taken using my tablet. Women at a Tamil…
HAL Heritage Center & Aerospace Museum, Bangalore
HAL stands for "Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd". This museum is built and maintained by them to show the public the road they have taken from 1940. It was started as a private company under the guidance of the Maharaja of Mysore. Later it was acquired by the government and is now a central government entity. It is a well maintained place and a must visit place if you have kids. The place might motivate the kids to fly. The museum had two halls and few airplane models. The first hall had a…
Tipu Sultan's Palace & Bangalore Fort
When searching for places to visit around Bangalore, found this one. It was interesting to know there is a fort and palace within the city and I never heard about them. So planned to check it out. This palace is not a large one, but had its own unique style. Here are a few of the shots of the palace. Slots for lamp Painted walls Stairs The arches The Darbar The pillars Bad wiring spoils the aesthetics The Darbar Some Idiot's work That's the palace's whole size Temple adjoining the palace…
