Staircase - DMVF were approached by the owners of this detached late Victorian house in order to undertake a full restoration and extension of their home. Restoration works included new timber framed sash windows throughout, refurbishment of plaster finishes and cornicing, new heating, wiring and plumbing throughout. I can't tell you what the best type of paint is as I'm no expert, but I sanded back the stained and varnished wood on the bannisters of our staircase and galleried landing, then primed, undercoated and finally used Dulux Trade Diamond Satinwood on them. I didn't find it the easiest paint to use but it looks great and has kept as brilliant white as it was when I did it 2 years ago.
