Jenny Saville - One of the best painters in the world, in my opinion. She is highly regarded, too - and with good reason. I believe she has some affiliation/representation/ownership via Saatchi in London, which pretty much propels one to the top of the art food-chain pretty easily.
jenny-saville Saville makes painting loud and noticeable. Which is very different to Hammershoi. This painting is full of colours/textures. The burntness of the face draws you to it. The expression is loud, as in it's uncommon as it is in our face with the mouth open and the dark corners of it. It is not soft of subtle, but it is striking. It conveys tone and shape very well, as it highlights lights/darks and the shape is sharp.
