Chand kazi was the Magistrate of Mayapur, the holy birth place of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. He broke the Mridanga drum and thus invited the wrath of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. The Lord led a mammoth procession to the Kazi's house protesting this cowardly act.
