Scarecrows from spoons 2013
A scarecrow project that I did 5 years ago with the kids was a big hit. It involved getting cheap craftstore wooden spoons and embellishing them with scrap fabric, buttons, beads, strong, straw and other folksy items to make a scarecrow. Hot glue is a must, and so it makes this a fun craft. We did as a part of our Harvest party.

Fall is definitely in the air! Cooler weather, changing leaves, hot cider, fresh apples, and plenty of comfort food...I love every bit of it! Now that school is in full swing, I have been busier than ever. This week Deedee Wills shared a fabulous resource from Differentiated Kindergarten Blog about sensory bins. Scarecrows are too cute not to share what we are doing in our sensory table! The students can stuff and un-stuff the scarecrow. Then they get to label the scarecrow. After all the fun, the students will label a scarecrow on a worksheet to take home.
