Tower Beach: 1952, The Children's Beach was the brainchild of the Rev Tubby Clayton, seeing a need for a safe place for children to enjoy the sand of a beach, it was very popular with the children of London, situated in front of The Tower of London but over time the sand was gradually washed away and it closed in 1971
