Project by: Marta Bielewicz Location: Warsaw, Poland This apartment in Poland built in 1936 is just over 1000 square feet (which isn’t anything to sneeze at), but feels even more spacious with its tall ceilings, fresh white walls and gorgeous wood flooring. But it’s the addition of a fanciful and eclectic array furnishings and art by interior designer Marta Bielewicz that makes this fun space inspiring.

This past year multiple clients requested something for their bath that I had never heard of before: putting the tub inside of the shower. And by this, they meant they want one glass-enclosed ‘wet room’ for bathing and showering. This configuration has an airy spa-like feel and look, and takes up less space than designing separate tub and showering areas. Often, for smaller spaces, clients have to choose between a tub or a shower.

In most bathrooms, showering is a sort of secondary function to bathing. It’s a little unusual, because I’m willing to bet most of us take more showers than baths. But there you have it — take a bathtub, add a curtain so the water doesn’t get all over the place, and now it’s a decently serviceable shower. Those of you lucky enough to have a larger bathroom may have a shower with one of those cool modern glass enclosures. Those are pretty slick.
