This is an absolutely AMAZING find!! This is a fabulous black silk moiré bodice with a matching silk moiré skirt. I think the skirt may have some cotton in it, but it seems to be primarily silk. This set would probably once have had a jacket associated as well. These pieces are both in lovely used condition (see condition notes). The bodice is lined with cream silk and has boning, which I almost think might be actual bone instead of steel. It closes with phenomenal little buttons! This is such a GORGEOUS skirt, unlike anything I've seen before! The main body of the skirt is a gorgeous black chintz, and the incredible brown lining is also chintz! The skirt has the most amazing machine made lace as trim near the bottom; lovely big flowers, such a unique pattern. There is also a wide band of cording above the lace - just another superb design detail!
