Traditional festive costume from the central district of the Balıkesir province. Dating: 1925-1950. The trousers and long-sleeved vest in striped silk, and the velvet jacket are embroidered (‘golden’ thread in ‘kordon tutturma’ technique/applied cord). With an ‘üçetek’ (robe with three panels) and an ‘arkalık’ (triangular waistcloth) in silk discontinuous (‘broché’) brocade. They date, as well as the jewelry, from 1875-1900, or earlier.
