Catherine Bach was the original Daisy Duke – starring in Seventies US television show The Dukes Of Hazzard. The tiny cut-offs, that consequently caused one of fashion’s most long-term denim trends, were Bach’s own costume idea. She was asked to bring an outfit for her character from home, deciding on a check shirt and the now-famous shorts. A poster of her wearing the style sold five million copies and her legs, at the time of the show, were insured for one million dollars (£659,000).
