He was born Oct. 22, 1925 in Port Arthur TX and died in Lee County FL on May 12, 2008. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute, the Academie Julien in Paris and with Josef Albers and John Cage at Black Mountain College in North Carolina. He is best know for opening the door for pop art in the 60's with Jasper John. Some works include "The Bed" (1955), "Broadcast" (1959) and "Flush" (1964).
