painting like Michelangelo. Instead of just having sketching time- discover and study Michelangelo, how he hanged upside down while painting. This is also great for students struggling with fine motor hand writing. It builds strength in pincer grasp.
Spelling Use a small chalkboard and write the classes sight words. Then use a small eraser and have the students overlap the words written in chalk. Works on their motor skills needed to write the words and practices their spelling.
We're Going on a Word Hunt (fun hide and seek game!) for sight words/vocab words. To diferentiate for multiple students use colored post it notes (each child has their own color post it with words they are working on) adaptable to Letter Hunt.
Display Boards - Nursery/Reception large square for each child with photo of them and significant other - Add examples of work and projects - Annotate with child's comments & adults for evidence (can stick in learning journals later)
