TXU Energy partnered with Mayor Greg Wortham and the City of Sweetwater’s Senior Nutrition Activities Program (SNAP) to host our Beat the Heat program and provide vital heat safety and energy conservation information to approximately 180 home-bound seniors with their daily lunch deliveries. In addition to participating in the meal route, TXU Energy covered the costs of the meals for the day. Thank you Mayor Wortham and SNAP for partnering with us! TXU Energy hosted a Social Agency Community Roundtable in Corpus Christi to provide information about the competitive electric market, TXU Energy products, and programs including Energy Assistance Operations. This roundtable provided us the opportunity to focus on operational aspects of the TXU Energy Aid program and Energy Assistance Operations; thank you to all who participated!

TXU Energy partnered with Congressman Michael Burgess to participate in the Third Annual Energy Summit and Fair held at the University of North Texas. This year, we hosted an outdoor exhibit to showcase our Chevy Volt and distribute energy-efficient LED nightlights from the vehicle. Thank you Congressman Burgess for hosting this event. We enjoyed being part of it.

TXU Energy supported the Boys & Girls Clubs of Arlington - RBI's annual fundraising golf tournament, Par for the Kids. Money raised through this event goes directly to programs benefitting approximately 8,000 youth in the Arlington community impacted by the Boys & Girls programs. For over 50 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Arlington has been serving the community by providing a safe haven where youth can learn the importance of education, build leadership skills and develop their character.

We presented Community Lifeline Center with a TXU Energy Aid check for $16,400. This check represents the amount Community Lifeline Center received in their second quarter TXU Energy Aid disbursement. Congratulations CLC on all your hard work fundraising this past quarter!

For the past 3 years, TXU Energy has partnered with the American Red Cross to send a touch of home to United States service members and veterans across the country and abroad through their Holiday Mail for Heroes program. With the help of employees across the company, we were able to sign 1,100 greeting cards in just two days! Thank you to all our employees who participated and to the American Red Cross for letting us partner with them on this amazing program.

We partnered with TTF to help them kick off their Re-Leaf effort by holding a tree planting at Crosby Elementary School, which was located directly in the path of tornados that swept through North Texas last month. TTF President and CEO Janette Monear addressed the crowd saying, “This tree symbolizes the beginning of a program to plant more than 600 new trees in the areas that were hit hardest by the April 2012 tornados.” #TXUEnergy

David Hou, a TXU Energy employee and member of the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber Leadership program, joined the local DFW Chinese Institute of Engineers at their annual MathComp and MathFun event at Collin County Community College. We worked with Visiting Nurses Association of Texas to distribute 5,000 meals to elderly citizens and provide them with heat safety tips on how to stay cool this summer. Thank you VNA for your ongoing support and partnership! #TXUEnergy
