Medieval manuscript inspired quilt ideas
A job in medieval/old society. "Hefneryn: A picture of a female potter (Hefneryn) operating a foot driven potter's wheel in the mid-1400's. This picture comes from a Hapsburg Court playing card. Note that she is making the corrugated surface on the body of a German funnel necked stoneware jug of which was common in this period. She is probably using a bone to do this; perhaps a cow's metapodial bone.

An image of the Madonna from the Rothschild Canticles (1300), a Middle Age manuscript produced for a nun at the turn of the fourteenth century, it served as an aid to mystical devotions in which images played as central a role as the written word. -- Rothschild Canticles (f. 64r): Mary as the Mulier amicta sole.
