informational writing...could use my zoobooks and let them "research" a topic then they can draw and label pictures to write about their topic

Two Fulbright Hugs ~ Teacher Time Savers: Informational Writing Graphic Organizer. I couldn't actually find the link ~ but it inspired me to create one very similar.

Monster Theme: The monster bags would be cute as a meet your teacher activity...they can create the bags at meet your teacher, then as "homework" they can fill the bag with 3 items that best describe them, or their favorite things and bring them to share on the first day of school.

Monster parties are fun and suitable for both boys and girls. If you need inspiration for some monster party ideas, then these parties are a must read!

Made this "Twitter Wall" for my classroom. Kids velcro their "tweets" (exit cards) on the board on their way out the door. I'm going to let them create their own Twitter names and laminate their half sheets of cardstock (hot dog style) for their tweets. I'm also thinking of having them use hashtags to indicate their understanding (#igotthis, #thinkso, #huh).

(image) What a great idea for the kids / grandkids! Perfect DIY project & recycle those used / broken crayon pieces, too. Would make for a great party favor, gift for Valentine's Day (or other occasions) or gift from Teacher to Students! Love it!
