Louis Cyr (1863-1912) - "World's Strongest Man" - Cabinet Card

I found this card in a box of sports related photographs and realized I had never posted it. It shows Louis Cyr, born Cyprien-Noé in Quebec, Canada. Ben Weider called him the strongest man ever to have lived. More information on his life can be found on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Cyr This photograph by S. Labonte of Southbridge, Mass. shows Cyr with his wife and daughter, costumed for a stage performance. It is obvious that he took his motto "Strong men eat" to heart!
