English bluebells have always been among my favorite flowers; we had "scads" of them growing along the house where I grew up! When I got older I learned they grow wild, in masses in the Forest of Dean, Glos. where my Grandfather was raised! Mine are usually blooming on his b'day, which was 6 May. chw
forest of dean sheep have the right to roam wherever they please. They used to roam right into our garden when I was young. But after the foot and mouth outbreak of 2001, they are much fewer in number and less spread out through public land. I kind of miss them though.
