Monochrome chic. Simple is best in a narrow hallway. White painted stairs make them appear wider and the grey runner is both practical and elegant. Seek out a slim console - vintage or modern - thats useful and decorative but not space-consuming.
Taan says: The moroccan tiles really lift up any hallway, it will cost you lots more, it's not the solution if you have a small budget like I do right now, but it's definitely something I'll do one day : )
