DIY - needle felting, fabric treatment, lace. So...TOTALLY want to do this to my costumes!!! If you're doing it on lighter fabric you can buy a stencil of your choice, use markers that fade away (specially designed for fabric, found at local craft stores in the quilting section) and then just follow your pattern with felt instead of string! ;)
