Shweta Bhardwaj has been a model and actress who has acted in Hindi and South Indian films galore. From being a Gladrags model to being a part of movies like Mission Istaanbul, Bin Bulaaye Baraati, Loot, Players and Rakht. This Delhi girl studied at Gargi college and but destiny had other plans in store for this lissome lass. We talk to this beauty about her home which is as stylish as the model cum actress herself.
It was a cold winter evening with rain drizzling down the street. The rain poured down the houses lying across the street after having swept the street. The enthusiasm of visiting this wonderful house doubled amid such a pleasant weather. While we made our way to the apartment, we were swept away by the beauty of the building nestled among trees on all sides. We took our course straight to the elevator and landed on the second floor, the elevator opening on to an imposing, large wooden…
Tearing across a promenade of buildings lying somewhere in the center of west Punjabi Bagh, we landed straight across a three storied white building with black wrought iron gates at the front. No sooner were we ushered to the second floor, than the domestic helper opened the front door. He led us indoors into an enormous space dotted with enticing stuff from around the world.
It was during one of our short home tours when we visited this building lying near the ring road in Rajouri Garden. As we entered the building, a lush green lawn treated our eyes, contrasting against the rubble of the metro construction outside. The entrance door to Madhu's home is a work of art itself in dark polished wood. She opened the gate with a glee and ushered us indoors with much warmth.
At the outskirts of Gurgaon, somewhere on the Golf Course road that runs down the DLF Golf and Country Club, there stands a huge iron gate that opens into a wide road lined on one side with towering apartments dotting across the lush green fifteen acres of land. Driving down the road, one can catch a glimpse of alphabetically numbered apartments on either side. About 20-30 storeys tall, these towering apartments seem to hob nob with the sky.
With another beautiful day, comes another beautiful home! This simple, straight forward and beautiful home belongs to Nandini Suri, a resident of Delhi. Nandini, a mother of two, always carries a charming attitude and the same air of elegance and exquisiteness reflects in her home. While we made our way around the house, my eyes constantly kept on gazing at the corners where everything was so perfectly and gracefully placed. We stopped by the living room and chatted over the tea.
Murkiness which osculated the pebble with a ray of hope, ripping apart all its intuitions and wisdom into the Sacred stream, the leaf carries the pebble into the universal currents of life, and finally discovers its existence in a castle; somewhere behind this Horizon.
Yet another day and another new home- a small yet beautiful home painted luxuriously with the colors of life! I made my way to Mr. Ravi Bhargava’s residence at Janakpuri C Block, West Delhi without knowing that this casual visit would allow me to uncover his penchant for décor and sense of creativity and design. The house was big enough for Bhargavas, a family of three- Anjali and Ravi Bhargava and their son.
The houses were proliferated with intricately carved furniture polished in dark mahogany wood (auburn, wine and red colors) and embellished with fancy upholstery in a band of eye popping colors. Then there were the décor accents – lithos paintings, brass and silver sculptures that painted a very contemporary picture of that era, almost personifying the human race over that very period of time.
