A Kurta is is a loose fitting shirt that falls just above or somewhere below the knees of the wearer. They were traditionally worn with pajamas, salwars, churidars or dhotis, but are now also worn with jeans. Kurtas are worn casually as well as formally. Kurtas are made from a variety of fabrics, with both summer and winter seasons in mind. Cotton is the norm for most kurtas, with silk being saved for formal kurtas and wool to make heavier kurtas.
